New Group Seeks to Protect Patients and Consumers’ Healthcare Decisions
Patients Come First will fight against obstacles standing in the way of patient well-being.
WASHINGTON, DC – A new patient advocacy organization, Patients Come First (PCF), launched with the mission of ensuring patients receive the care and support they need when they need it. Patients Come First will fight against policies that create barriers for patients and cause delays in innovation.
Unfortunately, today’s healthcare system often prioritizes the desires of special interests over ensuring patients can access the advanced and innovative medical care available in our healthcare system. From large insurers taking advantage of programs designed to help patients get access to medicines and care, to government policies that stifle innovation and hope for those with chronic illnesses, the current system simply does not work for patients. For more information on PCF’s priority areas, visit www.patientscomefirst.com.
Without dedicated voices speaking up on behalf of patients and consumers, obstacles will go unchecked and continue to stand in the way. To that end, PCF will maintain a network of executive directors nationwide to advocate for patients at the grassroots level.
PCF is pleased to announce its first executive directors, including:
Julie Gill Shuffield – California Executive Director
Connie Farrow – Missouri Executive Director
Jeanette Hoffman – New Jersey Executive Director
PCF will strive to put patients back at the forefront of healthcare through advocacy, science, education, and collaboration.
